Militia

The Vyseni Militia or the Vyseni Liberation Uprising are a separatist rebel group within the country of Graznavia formed by members of an oppressed ethnic minority called the Vysenis that aim to form an independent nation called the 'Republic of Vysena' for all Vyseni people with the city of Pogoren as it's capital.In order to achieve this,the rebels have engaged in a civil war with the Grazni government that has devastated the country of Graznavia with innocent civilians caught in the cross fire.

Background

The Vyseni Militia have strong and positive views towards nationalism and ethnic freedom for the Vyseni people and are willing to go to any measures in order to succeed,including conscripting unwilling Vyseni civilians and murdering any civilian that 'looked at them funny' as a 'precaution' as fighting often occurred in the streets and identifying the enemy was sometimes difficult,these crimes were witnessed first hand by a rebel deserter named Roman whose unit was selected for R&R in the city of Pogoren.Roman's friend Leon was drafted by the rebels while Roman volunteered but Roman deserted once they hit Pogoren.

Siege of Pogoren

In the later stages of the war,the rebels were forced to fall back to Pogoren which was then put to siege by the Grazni government forces,regardless,the rebel forces refused to surrender,engaging in violent skirmishes and clashes with government forces throughout Pogoren,leading to heavy casualties for both sides and Pogoren civilians and rendering entire areas of the city cut off or turned into battlegrounds.In the game,several areas are controlled or formerly controlled by the rebels:

Construction Site:A proclamation of independence for the Rupublic of Vysena can be found here.

Small Block of Flats:Once the epicentre of a battle between rebels and government forces.

Shelled School:A group of rebel militia can be stationed here and are willing to trade.

Notes

A man named Valter may ask for your help in recovering a humanitarian aid drop not yet confiscated by the rebels. If you say yes, you will get supplies, but a few days later a group of rebels will knock on your door and ask about the drop. If you snitch on Valter, you will get some cigarettes, food and other supplies, and the rebels will say "you have done your duty to the Vyseni people!". However, there is a chance Valter will be killed.

• The song that can be heard on Radio Vysena, is in Polish. This could mean that the Vyseni speak Polish or at least a Lechitic language.
