Summary[]

Children are one of the playable character types and only available in "The Little Ones" Expansion (TLO). Children are different from Adults so they only can do limited actions.

They can not do:

They can do:

  • Sleep with Adult which is a special sleep type and can do with only one bed. Sleeping with adults can be done by the Child's relative such as father, grandfather, aunt, or an adult who the child has become close to (adult plays/talks to the child every day for about a week). Both the adult and the child gain the effect of sleeping in bed (full sleep) by increasing tiredness by 2 level.
  • Eating Cooked Meal or Canned Food satisfies hunger by 2 level (differently from Adult which is increasing 1 level only). Eating Raw Food or Vegetables satisfies hunger by 1 level. (confirmation required) (differently from Adult which is increasing half level only).
  • Children can also be taught to do certain tasks by adults, such as making fuel, cooking food, making filters, and a few other items. To do this, the player should select any adult character, go to a work station, and select TEACH under an item. This can only be done once per crafting station with only one instance of the process, with double the time spent. If a child does too much work, adults will comment that the child is working too hard.

Characters who are better at interacting with children: Cveta, Zlata, Marko, Pavle, Psychologist.

Bonding[]

Every day, a child can interact with any adult in the shelter once; this improves the mood of both the child and the adult. If a child without a guardian talks to a specific adult enough times, the adult will become the child's new guardian, which allows the two of them to share a single bed at night and makes them much more dependent on each other's statuses. This is signified by the child calling the adult "aunt" or "uncle".

The table below shows the number of interactions with a child that each adult survivor needs to become a guardian.
